NB – only paste in the juicy ID code of the YouTube URL that appears in the address bar.
So if it looks like this:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=YpQ-R8ueK88&hl=en
then you should only paste YpQ-R8ueK88 in the box above.
Ignore everything before and including the v=
and ignore everything after and including any &
AND MAKE SURE THERE’S NO SPACE AT THE END.
Then click ‘Create Code’ and copy & paste the resulting embed code.
On Tumblr, post as “Text” instead of “Video”, then click the HTML button to paste the code.

View high resolution youtube videos
Normally the youtube url looks like the one below which gives you low resolution 320×240 videos.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ABCDE
Simply add &fmt=6 onto the end of url
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ABCDE&fmt=6
Now you should see high resolution videos. If no change is observed, then it means the video has not been converted to the higher resolution yet. View the video in full screen mode to see the difference.
If you add &fmt=18 to the end of url.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ABCDE&fmt=18
Now it will play the high-resolution 480×360 MP4 high-bandwidth videos with higher quality audio when available, otherwise it will play the regular version. Give it a try.

Did another shoot with Pete and the girls today. We refined the format so it wasn’t a 26 minute video that lost your interest after 5 minutes.
I just gave them a few signs when their 2 and 3 minute marks hit. Ashley didn’t pay attention at all… she was too busy hitting the goat cheese, but I think the signals helped Pete break up the shoot. It’s now 5 short (2-3min.) videos that focus on 1 wine each. Give me any feedback on the format so we can make March better.

Well, if you haven’t already noticed, it seems that the testing we found out about a few weeks back is the direction that Google has decided to go for the current interface of the Google Universal search results for videos in organic search. It appears that Google has adjusted the interface for video results that are part of universal search and are now promoting only two videos in the first 10 results if the search query is strongly associated with relevant video results.
It seems that this is only the case when Google identifies multiple videos as being relevant to the search query. It is still possible to find searches that return only one video within the top 10 results and I have seen pages that look unchanged. This is probably still a layout that they are testing but with a wider group? The new interface separates the 2 video results which is more in line with other types of OneBox search results like news, images, maps, books, etc…

What Does This Mean For Video SEO and why did Google take this approach? Read our post from a few weeks back where we discuss this format in more detail – New Google Universal Search Video Thumbnail Tests

Pete Marczyk and “the Girls” Ashley and Krisana, of Marczyk Fine Wines, located in Denver Colorado showcase their January Wines of the month.

This was a really fun and simple shoot. All you need to do is mic these three and let them drink and talk. I’ll be the first to admit, that this episode was a little long and that will be taken into consideration for next months show. It’s hard to stop Pete once he gets going. View Episode.
